Selena Gomez and Sex and the City: A CW fit?

Do you remember that once upon a time Boomtron linked youngster Miley Cyrus to acting as Carrie Bradshaw, the younger years? Well, lately buzz couples Selena Gomez to that role. Say what?

Well, think about it. Doesn’t the prospect of examining a prequel to Sex and the City bring to mind the CW’s Gossip Girl? Well, the CW network is likely inclined to agree. The opinion over at Deadline.com suggests a new Sex in the City flavored teen series could just make it into the CW’s upcoming lineup.

Sex and the City with Selena Gomez, Blake Lively or Emma Roberts?

The Carrie Diaries is already a book series penned by Sex and the City authoress Candace Bushnella as a prequel. No deals are in place to bring the book to television as of yet, but a look at Bradshaw’s high school years are in negotiations over at Warner Bros TV, who could decide to produce a series of this kind with Gossip Girl executive producers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage on the band wagon, too. Sex and the City writer/producer Amy Harris, (who is incidentally on the writing team for Gossip Girl in the current season), is liked for the role of adaptation writer. Wouldn’t it be nice for Gomez to transition from Disney to the CW? Check back here for updates!
