Simpsons Go Gaga

In classic The Simpsons tradition, another celebrity is lending their voice to the long-running animated sitcom and this time it’ll make you go Gaga (yeah, that felt wrong). Lady Gaga will appear in an episode voicing herself. The singer makes a stop in Springfield in order to cheer the down up and takes a special interest in Lisa. Because this Lady Gaga, there will be lots of singing and dancing, with deliberate mention of a flash mob. Those things are freaking cool.

Entertainment Weekly spoke with Gaga about doing voice work and she said it was “a little nerve-wracking.” It’s hard to imagine Gaga having nerves. “I make music, but I don’t do voice-overs every day of the week, and their characters are so awesomely convincing and sincere and wild and funny, I had to remind myself constantly of the sincerity of the humor. That’s what I was trying to focus on, not putting on a character too much and really being as sincere as I could with the lines.”

So how close with animated Gaga be to the real thing? There will be many crazy costumes, one of which doubles as a flamethrower, and Gaga will even share a kiss with Marge! “I play a little bit of a slut,” says Gaga. “The apple doesn’t fall far from my artistic tree.” Now that she’s doing work like this, will we see Gaga branch out in to more non-music related projects? This could lead to more voice acting roles and maybe even some live action stuff. We might be seeing Lady Gaga guest starring on an episode of How I Met Your Mother some day.
