SIN CITY 2 Ready to Depart?

Sin City, Sin City 2, Frank Miller

Tell me there are still some Frank Miller fans out there ready to get excited about Sin City 2 (the movie). If there are, then listen up, because we have some positive news. Miller is the comic book artist and writer who has also been behind comic book adaptations like Sin City and The Spirit. It has been confirmed that Miller is teaming up with Robert Rodriguez (Desperado, Spy Kids, Death Proof, Predators) again to deliver the Sin City sequel to the world. Now THR exclusively reports the two cinematic heavy weights have enlisted some power punching help.

Clive Owen optimistic about Sin City 2 in 2010

His name is William Monahan. You may not be familiar, but you will know his work. The screenwriter and novelist penned The Departed, which took home statuettes at the 79th Academy Awards for Best Picture, Best Director (Scorsese), Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Film Editing. Monahan also wrote screenplays for the Ridley Scott/ Orlando Bloom picture Kingdom of Heaven and Mel Gibson’s moody twister Edge of Darkness. See that one if you haven’t already. Gibson is gritty, not bonkers there. Seriously.

Sin City 2 a Prequel? Alexis Bledel says Yes.

So, what’s Monahan up to? He’s taking a look at the Miller script for Sin City 2 in case it needs any improvements. Rodriguez and Miller told Comic-Con attendees in July that the money gathering process for the sequel had already begun and shooting for the action film would begin as soon as a script was complete and that could happen, thanks to Monahan, be December. Ah, and here’s a juicy morsel. Remember the Tom Cruise science fiction project we just introduced here on Boomtron? Its called Oblivion and Monahan wrote its script, too!
