Superman Man of Steel Gets Morpheus

Actor Laurence Fishburne will team up with director Zack Snyder on the set of Superman: Man of Steel and here at Boomtron, we couldn’t be prouder. We recently announced Fishburne’s pending departure from TV’s CSI. A blockbuster about an iconic super hero is not a bad project to follow up with.
British actor Henry Cavill, has been cast as the new Sup and bubbly Amy Adams will be Lois Lane. Now, Lois and Clark have a boss at Daily Planet. Fishburne will be Editor-in-Chief Perry White making him the first ever black actor to play him. That’s not just in the movies either. We are talking animated and television incarnations, too! It is also worthy of note that Fishburne is not the first Matrix alumnus to be cast. Its Morpheus versus Commander Lock all over again!
Don’t you like your heroes with some color? It may have been controversial, but I adored actor Idris Elba as the Norse god Heimdall in Thor. I agree with Collider that Fishburne’s booming voice will be perfect for the leader of the Planet’s bullpen. Superman: Man of Steel crashes into theaters on June 14th, 2013.
Fishburne recently acted in Predators and will appear in Contagion this September (which sounds an awful lot like Outbreak) and stars Matt Damon, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jude Law, Kate Winslet, Marion Cotillard, and Sanaa Lathan. Good gracious that’s a stellar cast!
