The Hunger Games Catches Fire…Already!

The second book in the Hunger Games franchise is already becoming the second film in the franchise, and THR brings word that Catching Fire is scheduled to arrive in theaters on November 22, 2013. Can you think of a better way to celebrate Thanksgiving?
According to Lionsgate co-COO and Motion Picture Group president Joe Drake, “The magical thing about the Hunger Games trilogy is that the books have such a vastly broad appeal. The stories truly offer something for everyone, and the period around the Thanksgiving weekend is such an opportunity for families and friends to make an event of going to the movies.”
Sure, we still have seven months before The Hunger Games hits the big screen, but Hollywood believes it’s never too early to start promoting in-demand sequels, and it’s pretty easy to tell that fans will be more than ready for more Katniss Everdeen.
Aside from a release date, there’s no real info on Catching Fire, and that includes the butt in the director’s chair still being a mystery. It would be nice to think that director Gary Ross would get first crack at it if he does a good job with The Hunger Games, but those types of assumptions would just make asses out of both of us.
If March 23, 2012 is too far off and you need a Hunger Games fix before then, you might want to get the 411 on the movie soundtrack, and then give yourself a real thrill with the recent pics of Gale and Peeta, and the first official look at Gale and Katniss together.
