The New Mentalist Boss

The Mentalist CBS

Brace yourselves; there’s a new boss coming in to replace Madeleine Hightower (Aunjanue Ellis) as head of the CBI on CBS’ The Mentalist. And the best part? He’s just a kid! Well, at least compared to series star Patrick Jane (Simon Baker). Our new man of leadership is Michael Rady, who appeared on the CW’s Melrose Place, which sadly didn’t make it past one season. TVLine introduces us to his character Luther Wainwright, an educated and young special agent who’s put in charge of Jane and the rest of the team. It’s a fantastic situation just riddled with potential conflict.

One of the first things you can bet Jane will do is underestimate his new boss. And why wouldn’t he? He’s just a guppy. But Wainwright is a fast learner and in no time will be able to give even Jane a run for his money. You don’t get to be the boss unless you can do the job, right? It will be fun to see Wainwright try to assert his authority over Jane, something that doesn’t come easy in his never-ending quest to bring Red John to justice. Hopefully though, the two find a good dynamic and can work well enough together to still get their jobs done.

As a I mentioned before, Rady was in Melrose Place, an update of the 1990 series of the same name. He played aspiring filmmaker Jonah. He played the recurring character Max on ABC’s Greek.  His film credits include The Guardian and The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.
