A Soprano Sweeps into CSI: Miami Season 10

CSI: Miami CBS

Coming up during November sweeps is a little Sopranos love for CSI: Miami’s tenth season. For many years you knew her as Adriana from the beloved HBO series, and now you’ll get to know her as… okay, the character doesn’t actually have a name yet. The point is, actress Drea de Matteo is guest starring on CSI: Miami. We may not know the character’s name, but we know plenty about her motivations on the show. She won’t be some frail woman; she’s got claws and is looking to use them.

Matteo is playing a sexy (duh) poker player who puts herself in a high-stakes illegal game that could wind up being quite dangerous. As it turns out the game is robbed and someone ends up dead. That’s when we find out Matteo is actually a mother. And not just any mother; she’s a vengeance seeking mother. A similar robbery and attempted murder took place and left her son alive but disabled. She’s out to find whoever committed the crime on her own. It’s commendable, but stupid. Still, go Matteo!

CSI: Miami executive producer Barry O’Brien is very excited to have Matteo on the show. “We’re thrilled to have an actress of Drea’s caliber on the show,” he says. “We all fell in love with her as Adriana on The Sopranos and watching her bring a complex and nuanced character to life is a revelation.” Any show is lucky to have her I’d say. She has graced other shows like Desperate Housewives and Sons of Anarchy with her presence in the past.
