DOCTOR WHO Christmas Roll Call

It just wouldn’t be Christmas without a Doctor Who special, and it’s about time we find out who will joining the Doctor on his latest festive journey. The Christmas special, which features Matt Smith in his second holiday episode, will feature Claire Skinner as Madge Arwell, a mother of two.
The press release for the Christmas Special goes a bit like this: “The special, set during World War II, sees Madge Arwell and her two children, Lily and Cyril, evacuated to a draughty old house in Dorset, where the caretaker is a mysterious young man in bow tie, and a big blue parcel is waiting for them under the tree. They are about to enter a magical new world and learn that a Time Lord never forgets his debts…” To what debts are they referring? I guess we’ll just have to wait and see!
Also starring are Bill Bailey, Arabella Weir and Alexander Armstrong in unspecified roles. I can’t help but notice the complete lack of Rory and Amy in the press release. Not a single mention of them, which seems to mean the Doctor’s goodbye to them in “God Complex” was a bit more permanent than I thought. However, this release could just be announcing the new cast and Rory and Amy could still pop up, but I won’t hold my breath. Even without those two loveable companions, a Doctor Who Christmas special is wonderful gift that should not be taken for granted.
