Erica Durance not out of place among Angels

Erica Durance has some experience with out-of-this-world adventures thanks to her stint as Lois Lane on Smallville. Now she’s joining a few heavenly bodies in ABC’s new Charlie’s Angels for some down-to-earth work, and this tough lady won’t need any comic book heroes to save her.

Durance will be visiting the Angels (Minka Kelly, Rachael Taylor and Annie Ilonzeh) as Samantha Masters, a “tough-as-nails, Glock-toting CIA operative who shares a romantic past with Bosley.”

And as they say, the past might be gone but it’s not forgotten. Durance reveals that Samantha and Bosley might have a job to do but there’s also some unfinished business to take care of. “I wouldn’t necessarily call it a sexual tension,” she tells TVLine, “but there is definitely a tension there from having had a relationship before — and it’s not finished yet.”

In the pic above, Bosley (Ramon Rodriguez) and Samantha are getting ready to give the Angels a helping hand, but things apparently won’t be going as smoothly as they’d like.

“I end up coming along for the ride, to see what the Angels are doing and how we can best help them,” Durance explains. Sounds like a great plan, doesn’t it. Unfortunately, her assistance comes with a couple of serious downsides. “There is bickering as well,” Durance reveals with a laugh. “And then we all get into a lot of trouble!”

The new Charlie’s Angels premieres on ABC on Thursday, September 22nd at 8/7c.
