Hostage in CASTLE with Nathan Fillion

If you’re old enough you should be able to recall whom the youngest of Fred MacMurray’s kids was on My Three Sons. If you said it was Ernie you would be correct. But the actor playing Ernie is all grown up now. Barry Livingston is 52 and going to be guest starring in the October 31 episode of Castle. Unfortunately, it doesn’t sound like much of a Halloween episode, which is just a tragedy.
TV Guide brought the word that Livingston will be playing a man named Abe in the episode, titled “Cops and Robbers”. Abe is a bank customer whose day turns to crap when he becomes a hostage in a botched robbery of the bank. He gets taken in to the vault along with Castle (Nathan Fillion) and his dear mother, Martha (Susan Sullivan). “Castle’s trying to help Martha get a loan for her acting school when the bank is taken over,” explains executive producer Andrew Marlowe. ”Beckett gets involved from the outside trying to negotiate the safety of all the hostages. Along the way there are lots of twists and turns.” I’ll hold out hope that this still takes place on Halloween and there will be random people at the bank dressed as vampires and Lady Gaga.
Since he was a child actor, Livingston has done small spots on a number of TV shows, having done quite a bit of work on other ABC shows besides Castle. You can spot him on episodes of Desperate Housewives, Grey’s Anatomy and Eli Stone. Aside from acting, Livingston is an author. He has written a new book titled The Importance of Being Ernie.
