Hugh Grant Up in David Mitchell’s Cloud Atlas?

What do actors Halle Berry, Tom Hanks, Susan Sarandon, and, just announced, actor Hugh Grant all have in common? The film adaptation of Cloud Atlas is the answer! Boomtron has reported on this, the newest project by the Wachowski Brothers a few times now and it definitely sounds like a head trip each time. The unique fantasy story seems to span several vastly different locations and time periods as a string of events links together in a remarkable chain. One such vignette occurs in a post-apocalyptic future. Some of the characters are a notary who discovers a diary, a young musician, a journalist, a genetic clone and a primitive tribesman.
No word yet on whom he will portray. A few of Grant’s latest films include American Dreamz, Music and Lyrics and Did You Hear About the Morgans.
Wachowski Brothers (Larry and Andy) are just two of three directors for the project. Run Lola Run director Tom Tykwer will help the pair. The Wachowski brothers wrote Assassins (starring Antonion Banderas, Sly Stallone and Julliane Moore; one of my favorites from the 90′s), wrote, directed and produced The Matrix Trilogy and worked on V for Vendetta and Speed Racer, as well as Ninja Assassin.
