Inside the Emma Watson and Rupert Grint HARRY POTTER kiss

It was the kiss that Harry Potter fans waited 10 years for, and Emma Watson didn’t plan to disappoint when Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2 hit the big screen. Rupert Grint, on the other hand, wasn’t as prepared for the big moment.
In what appeared to be a real-life mimicking of the characters they portrayed, Watson followed in the footsteps of Hermione Granger and steeled herself to take on the daunting task in front of her while Grint called upon the spirit of Ron Weasley and just winged it.
In the clip below, director David Yates talks about the kiss between Ron and Hermione while discussing the completely different ways the two young actors approached it. You don’t need the play-by-play though, because it’s easy to see Watson preparing herself for the highly-anticipated moment.
Emma is clearly the aggressor when it comes to locking lips and poor Rupert seems to be swept away by her dedication to getting it right the first time. The intense moment is shattered, however, when the two bust out laughing, which would probably be considered a bad thing in just about any other situation besides this one.
Some Potter purists might be less than thrilled about the way things were changed in the film adaptation (they kiss outside the Room of Requirement in the book), but the kiss between Hermione and Ron is one of those moments that will go down in Hollywood history, even if the book and the movie have two different versions of that moment.
