Don Cheadle and Kristen Bell in Showtime’s HOUSE OF LIES Trailer

House of Lies Showtime

Want to see Don Cheadle and Kristen Bell do a little dance to promote their new show, House of Lies, premiering on Showtime in January? You get your wish! Cheadle, Bell and the rest of the cast (which includes the extremely talented Ben Schwartz. Jean-Ralphio anyone?) come out in suits and get themselves in a nice intense pose, and then they awkwardly look to Cheadle for instruction.

He even shushes Bell when she tries to speak. What’s he waiting for? Oh! He’s waiting for the “We’ve got big balls” line in the song to come on. Now they can start dancing. So I take it this is a comedy then? Sweet.

And that’s the trailer, which came from HitFix, but you can view it down below at your leisure. The premise of Houes of Lies is a simple one. It follows a team of “cutthroat management consultants” who will do anything to get your business and your money. The show is based on a book by Martin Kihn called House of Lies: How Management Consultants Steal Your Watch and Tell You the Time. It’s a little long in the title, but I like it. Allegedly, this comedy will be more about the laughs than some of Showtime’s other comedies. It will still be dark humor, but the drama will be less.

Based on what I’ve seen so far for this series, I’m kind of stoked to see it. I’ve gotten pretty tired of most of Showtime’s series by now, and could use something fresh. House of Lies could be just what I need.
