Matchmaking Morena Baccarin Back on The Mentalist

Now that V is over and done with, Morena Baccarin has some free time to do other projects, like returning to The Mentalist for an episode. Later this year, Baccarin will reprise her role as professional matchmaker Erica Flynn. Unfortunately for Jane (Simon Baker) this means he’ll once again have to shield himself from her, which will be difficult due to the raw chemistry the two have.

They won’t show it on screen, but Jane will be taking lots of cold showers in between scenes. The last time we saw Erica Flynn she was being taken away to prison for her involvement in a murder. According to TVLine there has yet to be any word if her return means she’s being released or if she’ll be in a jail cell for the duration of her screen time. I’m a sucker for escaped villains, so I would be tickled pink if she could somehow break out of prison, even if just for 10 minutes at the end of the episode. Executive producer Bruno Heller kept tight lipped about Erica’s storyline, only teasing that it’s  ”the return of one of the few people who can mess with Jane’s mind.”

Baccarin has bounced back nicely from the cancellation of V. She has a new thriller series called Homeland that is premiering on Showtime this Sunday. The premiere is highly anticipated and those that have seen it have praised it thus far. All I have to say is congratulations for getting back on the horse so quickly Baccarin.
