Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic in CASTLE season 4 tease

You know, I was just thinking to myself the other day, “We could use a Castle poster featuring Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic that’s kind of mischievous.” Lo and behold, we got just that. And not only is it mischievous, it’s a little sexy too. But not overtly sexual. It’s subtle. Your four-year old son can totally look at this poster and see nothing mentally damaging.

TVLine got the first look at this poster, which features Castle (Fillion) and Beckett (Katic) standing very close to each other. They have a look on their faces that says, “We have a secret.” Seeing as in the Season 3 finale, Castle told the nearly dead Beckett that he loved her, my romantic heart wants me to believe she (off screen) reciprocated his feelings and now the two of them are having a secret love affair. That would be fantastic. Judging by Beckett’s finger shushing Castle, I want to say Castle wants to spill the beans on the relationship, but Beckett isn’t quite ready. Perhaps she enjoys the naughtiness of keeping it hidden. That does it for a lot of people.

The tagline “Partners. In Crime.” suggests a double meaning that would work with my theory above. On the flipside of things, the poster has the potential to mean nothing and be just a quirky teaser. It could amount to nothing in the show itself.  Still, we can dream. I for one fully believe we’ll see the two of them together when the season begins.
