Sofia Vassilieva Headed to LAW & ORDER SVU

Now that everybody has had a chance to meet new guy Danny Pino on Law & Order: SVU, it’s time to bring out some of those hard-hitting storylines that grab you below the belt, and guest star Sofia Vassilieva is just the person to make sure you tune in.
Vassilieva, who spent seven seasons on CBS’s Medium as Patricia Arquette’s daughter, Ariel Dubois, will be visiting Law & Order: SVU as Sarah Reese, a young girl described by TVLine as “a self-reliant, bohemian girl and shining star of her middle-class suburban family who comes to New York City on a piano scholarship.” Unfortunately, for her, she gets to meet the cops of SVU after she’s introduced to the darker side of living in New York City when a guy breaks into her apartment and rapes her.
Even scum are allowed legal representation so Vassilieva’s role opens the door and introduces a new recurring character to the sex-crimes drama, as Andre Braugher hops onboard as the defense attorney hired by the guy that attacked Sarah. Defending a rapist probably isn’t the smoothest way to meet Detective Benson and the rest of the squad, but a lawyer’s gotta do what a lawyer’s gotta do.
There’s no word yet on exactly when Vassilieva will be making her SVU appearance, but it will be one of the upcoming episodes this season.
