Sookie Savior Back in True Blood Season 5

Do you know what really ticks me off? When people don’t stay dead on television! There’s a certain actress of True Blood who was recently killed after saving Sookie’s (Anna Paquin) life and now she’s coming back. That person is Rutina Wesley, which means Tara will definitely be in Season 5.

TVLine spoke with Wesley about her character’s death, where she confirmed her return, saying, “I know I’m coming back. I just don’t know in what capacity.” It’s no secret that Tara isn’t one of the most popular characters, so why is she being brought back? I’ve said this time and time again; True Blood has a problem with killing its cast. You can’t just decide that every person is important and not allow death. There are 20 main cast members for goodness sake! Let some people go!

I understand not killing characters in shows like Supernatural, where you only have two main dudes. It wouldn’t be the same if Sam or Dean died. But losing Tara hardly changes the show in a fundamental way. If anything, it helps it by freeing up story space. Sometimes the best way to tell someone’s story is to kill them. The story should dictate what happens to the characters, not the other way around. If that happens then you start writing your show in a direction just to keep people alive. Lost got rid of at least two cast members a season and it had some of the best character driven plots ever. So I don’t care if Tara comes back with super powers, it’s a waste of screen time.

Great!, Tara is my favorite True Blood Character. The show would not have been the same without her.

Amen Tara needs to die and go away she was literally worthless this season. The only thing she did this season was annoy me. She’s always crying about how her life sucks points guns at vampires and acts like a hard ass but as soon as they come after her she starts crying like a baby again. I about stood up and cheered when she died at the end but now after finding out she’s coming back makes that ending worthless. Seriously they need to start killing some annoying people starting with Tara she’s awful!

You are wrong about freeing up story space. that is what makes True Blood so great. There are so many great characters, and they all share time, which means there is so much going on at one time its an absolute blast. Sooke, Jason, Sam, and Tara should NEVER leave

I can’t stand Tara and was so happy when she died, but all Wesley said was that she comes back in some capacity. That could mean she’ll be back in one episode as a memory or something like that. Sort of like what they did when Godric died, he came back in Eric’s flashback but he wasn’t back per se. At least that’s what I’m hoping for.

Considering both Bill and Eric had her blood shortly before that happened, they’ll feel Sookie’s distress and rush to the rescue. I don’t think it’s necessarily about bringing Tara back, but more about Sookie’s relationship with who ever saves Tara (hopefully Eric )
