Some of Demi Lovato’s troubles revolved around bulimia and self-cutting. In her letter, which was posted to her YouTube page, she also talks about facing addiction and being inspired to create her new album, Unbroken. In the emotional clip, Lovato describes the surprise of stardom. “Last year, everything stopped,” she explains of the trip to rehab. She calls herself “healthier” and “stronger” now. Lovato also relates just how much she loves her fans.

Unbroken sees its official release tomorrow! The first single from the album, “Skyscraper” hit our ears in July. Unbroken boasts collaborations with Timbaland, Missy Elliot, Rock Mafia and Jason Derülo. As an actress, Lovato rocked Disney’s Camp Rock and Princess Protection Program. She was the lead of Sonny with a Chance and did a guest role on Grey’s Anatomy.
