Batman 3 DARK KNIGHT RISES Peek on Ghost Protocol?

The Dark Knight Rises won’t arrive in theaters until July 20, 2012 but there’s no need to wait that long for a peek at the film because you’ll be able to get a 6-minute preview if you go see Mission Impossible – Ghost Protocol in IMAX. Ethan Hunt, your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to get movie-goers excited about Batman’s next adventure.

Tom Cruise’s next (and final?) adventure in the Mission: Impossible franchise is expected to be the biggest IMAX release of the holiday season, and /Film has found out that maybe Paramount wants to cash in on everybody going to see Mission Impossible – Ghost Protocol by giving them a 6-minute peek at The Dark Knight Rises. There’s no word at this time on what scene will be shown but it’s probably a safe bet that it will be one of the scenes that was actually filmed in IMAX format, because – ya know – otherwise, why bother with it?

As if a preview of TDKR wasn’t enough of a reason to pony up the extra dough for the IMAX experience, people that see the IMAX version of Ghost Protocol will get to see the film on December 16th. The general release won’t hit theaters until December 21st, and there’s been no mention of a TDKR preview attached to it.
