Batman 3 DARK KNIGHT RISES Soars over Gotham!

The villains of Gotham City have nowhere to hide in The Dark Knight Rises as the following videos reveal that Batman has things covered in the air as well as on the ground. The videos below, which were generously shared on YouTube by a few intrepid Bat-Fans, provide three different views of some on-location filming taking place for The Dark Knight Rises, the third film in Chris Nolan’s epic Batman saga.

The first clip isn’t too bad because it gives us an okay view of the Batwing being towed through the air on some cables, but the second videographer had a slightly better vantage point, offering a closer look, which is repeated a couple of times so you get a few opportunities to absorb as many details as possible without having to hit ‘Replay.’

The third video brings the action down to Earth as we see a few takes of Batman arriving on the scene on his Batpod.

In an age where digital technology opens the door to a whole world of wonders, I have to admit I’m impressed to see Nolan taking things a little old-school and working with an actual Batwing. It would probably be a lot easier to use software to create the craft and then insert into the scene than it is to take over what appears to be at least one whole city block and drag a bulky aircraft through the air multiples times. Hopefully, all that time and hard work will pay off when The Dark Knight Rises hits the big screen.
