DAMAGES Season 5 Lands Ryan Phillipe, LOST Reunion on PERSON OF INTEREST

Damages DirectTV Person of Interest CBS

How would everyone feel if we talked about Ryan Phillippe being on Damages or a Lost reunion on Person of Interest? How about we do both? Let’s take two of the biggest television news stories as of late and cram them in to one epic article. Brace yourself for the sheer intensity this union creates.

Let’s start things off with more of a big screen vibe to it. Ryan Phillippe, according to TVLine, is returning to television for the first time since appearing on One Life in the ‘90s. The film star has signed on for a major appearance on Damages’ fifth and final season. He will be playing a Julian Assange-type character (the founder of WikiLeaks, a very controversial website) who seeks help from Ellen (Rose Byrne). At least Phillippe will have better hair than Julian Assange.

Meanwhile, EW reports Person of Interest is reuniting Ben Linus with his arch nemesis, Charles Widmore. That is to say, former Lost actor Alan Dale has been tapped to play a former member of the German Stasi secret police. Dale makes his appearance in episode 8 and I know I’m not the only one who hopes Michael Emerson and Dale get a lot of screen time together. The two together were like dynamite on Lost, but while I don’t assume they’ll have the same animosity toward each other on Person I can’t help but hope for at least an intense staring contest between them.

About Brody Gibson

+Brody Gibson studied film in Vancouver, BC. I originally intended to become a video editor, but realized I have a passion for writing. To say I love television is a bit of an understatement. I watch it religiously, think about it constantly. To be able to talk about it is one the best things in the world. Combining that with my love of writing gives me the opportunity to express my opinions to the Internet masses and start gripping conversations.
