DARK TOWER Going to HBO?

Stephen King’s fan favorite The Dark Tower may find a home with HBO. The idea is simple. Creative minds Ron Howard and Brian Grazer want to put The Dark Tower into a series adapted for television. In fact, their hope is the saga will run for multiple seasons. That’s a relief, because I was none-to-thrilled when STARZ cut Camelot after just one season. So far the price tag for this type of a project is a little frightening.
Grazer was stopped by MTV News while promoting a different kind of Tower. It was at the press junket for the very funny comedy film Tower Heist that today’s video was captured. Just hit play.
Grazer says the series has a green light and HBO’s involvement is looking like a done deal. I know plenty of Stephen King fans that will be rejoicing. Are you among them?
Grazer says, “We’re going to do [The Dark Tower] with HBO. We’ll do the TV with HBO, and we’ll do the movie with… to be determined. We’ll do it right.” That means actor Javier Barden, who has been in the news lately with a link to an upcoming James Bond film, is still scheduled to act as Roland Deschain. When we get more details, you’ll be the first to know.
