DISNEY Goes Geek, sets GEEK CHARMING with Sarah Hyland Date

The Disney Channel is going to the geeks with the new Geek Charming, a made-for-television movie starring Modern Family’s Sarah Hyland as the girl who gets a new point of view when she becomes the subject of a documentary.

Geek Charming, based on Robin Palmer’s young adult novel by the same name, tells the story of Dylan Shoenfield (Hyland), a snobbish high school girl that agrees to be the subject of a documentary on high school popularity being made by film geek Josh Rosen (High School Musical’s Matt Prokop) after Josh rescues her designer bag from a fountain (work with it people; it’s Disney). Throughout the filming process, the geek and the snob learn more about each other… and it’s probably safe to say that, in typical Disney fashion, the two will realize they’re perfect for each other and fall madly in love.

The new show premieres on Friday, November 11th at 8/7c but TVGuide revealed that the Disney Channel will be showing some geek love during the week leading up to the debut by featuring movies and certain episodes of some series that celebrate “geekdom.” Geek Charming stars Hyland and Prokop will also provide a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the movie during “Geek Week,” from Monday through Thursday, Nov. 7-10 from 7:30/6:30c to 10/9c.
