Jaime Ray Newman lands GRIMM NCIS Roles

Now that she’s finished up her work on CSI: NY, Jaime Ray Newman has moved on to her next big gig which just so happenes to be yet another popular CBS show: NCIS. The lucky lady has landed a two-episode arc on the crime drama series, which will begin with the Tuesday, Nov. 8 episode. It’s safe to assume her next appearance will be in the following episode.
Newman’s role, according to TVLine, will make her a Navy Lieutenant Commander named Melanie Burke, who happens to be a chaplain at the Navy Yard. She meets with our team of regulars to investigate a military place crash. I suspect foul play, and there’s little doubt the experts of NCIS think so too. I’m wondering if there’s significance to the chaplain aspect of Newman’s character. Is that just a throwaway bit of trivia, or will it turn out to be a rather important element to Melanie Burke and the investigation as a whole?
Around the same time Newman is filming this part, she will also be doing work as a guest star on NBC’s new series, Grimm. It premieres Friday, Oct. 28 and features a homicide detective protecting the world from vicious storybook characters that have made their into the real world, one of which Newman will be playing. She will play Angelina, who happens to be one an episode’s titular “Three Bad Wolves”.
