MARVEL gets CRIMINAL MINDED for The PUNISHER on TV?

Since pulling the trigger for the first time in Marvel Comics back in 1974, the Punisher has had three big screen adventures, and now it looks like the skull-wearing vigilante will be heading to the small screen as former Criminal Minds showrunner Ed Bernero gets the put pilot at FOX.
According to Deadline, this version of the Punisher would still be Frank Castle, but this Castle would be a detective with the New York Police Department during the day and a vigilante at night who delivers justice to those who manage to slip through the cracks of the system. Bernero will executive produce the hour-long procedural with Marvel.
The Punisher is the first sale of the season but he’s not the first comic book hero that’s been tapped to make the journey to the small screen. Other comic-to-TV projects include The Hulk, AKA Jessica Jones, Cloak and Dagger, The Spectre, and Powers.
Bernero is also dabbling in the paranormal and the Old West with a project called The Eye, which follows a team of Pinkerton detectives in 1871 Arizona as they explore unexplained phenomena.
The Punisher has been a hit-and-miss type of guy on the big screen, but he’s always been essentially the same character. I’m not sure how well he’ll do as a vigilante with a secret identity, which happens to be a plot that does an excellent job of shoving Frank Castle into a box that’s already occupied by so many others.
