J.K. Rowling fans know all about the exciting new website, Pottermore, and the magical things in store for first-year wizards who sign up. One such mystical feat is the charm which will transform all of Harry Potter’s beloved print books into digital e-books, available for digital enjoyment. This week we have learned however, there is a house elf tossing a wrench into the system. That is to say, we have a delay to announce.

Whether elves were involved or not, we cannot know, but the AP announced the official the launch of the e-book store has been pushed to 2012. Fans were actually expecting the 7 Harry Potter tales to go on sale in electronic format this month.

Pottermore also promises a user friendly virtual encyclopedia, an exciting role-playing game and a interactive online community. One million lucky fans, who were selected via a special contest, are already taking part in some of the goodies. Managers of the website stated this delay on the e-books would “allow us to focus on our first priority: opening ‘Pottermore’ to as many people as possible and making the experience as good as it can be.” that’s not so bad, now is it?
