Tricia Helfer and Puzzle have the SCENT OF MISSING

Battlestar Galactica hottie Tricia Helfer is going to the dogs as she grabs the lead role in the new TNT pilot for Scent of the Missing as a member of a K-9 Search and Rescue team.Scent of the Missing is a new drama based on a nonfiction novel of the same name written by Susannah Charleson, which tells the story of the author’s entry into the world of K-9 search and rescue. While the novel only details the training of Charleson and her dog, Puzzle, along with their very first rescue assignment, the TNT series will undoubtedly follow the character through numerous adventures.
According to Deadline, Helfer will play the lead role, with Deadwood’s Gerald McRaney portraying her father. At this time, a dog hasn’t been selected to play her K-9 partner.
The pilot is being written and produced by CSI vets Carol Mendelsohn, Melissa R. Byer and Treena Hancock, which means the show is probably in good hands. A premiere date hasn’t been mentioned yet.
I enjoyed Hefler on Battlestar Galactica (and not just because she looks hot as hell), so I’m looking forward to her return to the small screen in a series of her own, especially since 17th Precinct, the last project she was connected to, wasn’t picked up. On the bright side, even if Scent of the Missing doesn’t make the cut, Hefler can still be seen as a recurring character on NBC’s The Firm.
