A PLAYBOY Wifey for SVU

Law & Order: SVU NBC

Someone in Law & Order: SVU is being given a Playboy wife. Any guesses who? I should clarify that she isn’t a Playboy Bunny, not in real life anyway. She just recently got off her gig on NBC’s The Playboy Club, which as we all know was canceled after only three episodes. Laura Benanti is our lady. Props to her for landing a new role so quickly after losing her old one. Now we just need to figure out who she’s going to be married to…

Well according to TV Guide, Benanti will play Leanne, wife of SVU newcomer Det. Nick Amaro (Danny Pino). Leanne has been away overseas in Iraq and is just returning. When a couple is separated like that it can change your perspective of a relationship. You don’t see each other for months and you just aren’t sure of your feelings anymore. Now that Leanne is back, she and Nick will have to figure out where they are in their relationship and if they should continue going forward. Benanti’s arc will last for three episodes, beginning with the December episode, “Spiraling Down”. With only three episodes to sort everything out, I’m not willing to bet in favor of them sticking together. She’ll cut and run, or Nick will decide he wants something else, more stable.

What does everyone think of the new character of Nick Amaro? Are you glad to be getting to know more about his personal life by meeting his wife? Drop your comments down below!
