AMERICAN IDOL’s Jennifer Lopez – Where in the World?

Who in the world will play Carmen Sandiego? A familiar face may be about to act as the beloved traveling female 90′s kids show and computer game icon.

Yes, the interwebs are a-buzz with rumors that American Idol judge Jennifer Lopez may star in a movie version of Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego. Walden Media acquired the rights to make an adaptation. The project is still in the earliest stages, but EW reports the corporation has its sights on J-Lo as a potential to star in the franchise as the international thief. In fact, whether she nabs the lead role or not, Jennifer Lopez is already attached as a producer of the upcoming film. She’s got kids, so this is the sort of career move that makes sense. Salma Hayek is also a mom and recently co-starred with Antonio Banderas for the animated flick, Puss in Boots.

Lopez sounds like a shoe-in for the role, don’t you think? The material is a little dated, but I’m sure writers can make it over. Would you be watching?
