Emilie de Ravin as a ONCE UPON A TIME Belle

Emilie de Ravin, Once Upon a Time, Beauty and the Beast, ABC

Actress Emilie de Ravin fell for Robert Pattinson in Remember Me and collected plenty of fans during her stint as Claire Littleton on ABC’s Lost. Now, please be our guest, as we announce her new TV role, forged someplace in fairy tale heaven.

ABC’s delightfully creative new series, Once Upon a Time already includes beloved characters such as Snow White, Jiminy Cricket and Rumpelstiltskin as they flip flop between their world and ours. I really like how the evil queen’s mirror is a reporter in our world. Still, there’s always room for more and this time around it is the tale of Beauty and the Beast getting a remake.

Emilie de Ravin will visit the series to portray Belle, the familiar story book beauty. Her appearance should air on February 12th, according to TV Guide, and the Beauty and the Beast theme should make for a dazzling Valentine’s Day week story.

The creative team behind the popular fantasy show cited de Ravin’s “natural strength and warmth” as key personality traits Belle would need to display for the heartfelt new episode. This casting news means fans of the fairy tale series will also soon meet Belle’s father, the testosterone driven Gaston, and of course, the Beast. I look forward to seeing ABC’s take on him. Do you think he’ll be created via CGI, or perhaps as a costumed actor? I’m kind of hoping for a costumed actor. I’ll get all sentimental recalling Ron Perlman as a much earlier TV Beast.

The good word is, deeper into the season we can also expect to meet Aladdin and his legendary genie.
