GAME OF THRONES and BOARDWALK EMPIRE Helmer Goes On MIDNIGHT DELIVERY for Guillermo del Toro?

Game of Thrones and Boardwalk Empire may be two very different shows, but whether they are pleasing fantasy fans or crime fans, they both please. The cable favorites share one more commonality and his name is Brian Kirk. As a director, Kirk was behind “Hold Me in Paradise,” episode 1.8 of Boardwalk Empire. He also directed three episodes of Game of Thrones. Now a collaboration with the infamous Guillermo del Toro is in the director’s future.

The upcoming Universal thriller is called Midnight Delivery. Del Toro is producing. The novelist, Neil Cross, has written the script. Gary Ungar and Russell Ackerman are exec producing in conjunction with Del Toro Productions. Now, according to Variety, Brian Kirk has been asked to direct.

The thriller drama will center on a desperate father who must become a drug mule in order to save his son’s life. Don’t you hate it when that happens? Production should begin next year. Kirk will also be direction Paper Wings for Lionsgate.

Del Toro’s latest works include writing for Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark, production for Puss in Boots, and some writing for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. When we learn more, you will, too!
