GAME OF THRONES – Possible Glimpse at Your Take home Westeros

Of all the TV related news out there, finally getting a look at the Game of Thrones Season 1 Blu-ray/DVD box set has to be the most exhilarating. Granted, this isn’t an official announcement from HBO, but it seems pretty legit to me. To appreciate the beauty of the box art just gaze upon the image above this block of text. It looks gorgeous doesn’t it? I kid you not, that is the most beautiful looking box set I have ever seen, even better than the giant Lost collection. I’ve got butterflies in my stomach just looking at it.

ComicBookMovie.com has a list of the special features that will be available with the set. If these turn out to be the official bonus content for Season 1 then we are in good hands. Exclusive to Blu-ray is the Complete Guide to Westeros, an interactive compendium that will take a look at the various characters and their respective houses. There’s also a breaking down of Episode 6, “A Golden Crown” as well as In-Episode Guides that will pull up on-screen background information for each episode.

Also included is a 30-minute featurette, “Making Game of Thrones” and a look in to designing the shows iconic title sequence. There’s a featurette of George R. R. Martin and executive producers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss discussing the difficulties of bringing Martin’s epic book series to the TV screen. There a few more bonus features as well as seven commentaries. All in all, this looks to be one impressive season to own.
