Miley Cyrus Takes a Liberty Walk, Occupies Wall Street

Is it anarchy? When it comes to the American Occupy Wall Street movement, Miley Cyrus doesn’t seem to think it is. How do we know? Well, making its rounds about the interwebs is a brand spankin’ new remix for her song “Liberty Walk” and it comes in the form of a video tribute to the Occupy movement.
Cyrus, freshly turned 19 now, posted the new video herself, which features news footage from the political movement on her birthday. The energetic recording is remixed by Rock Mafia and dedicated to the people who stand up for what they believe. You can take a look and listen for yourself right now.
This can be viewed as positive support from a celebrity for proponents of Occupy. Or do you believe otherwise? On the other hand, timing can be unfortunate. Also in the news is Cyrus’s birthday celebration in which friend, Kelly Osbourne, seems to have given the singer and actress a cake decorated with Bob Marley’s face. The idea behind the cake was to suggest that Cyrus is a total pothead. But was it only a joke? According to Osbourne’s Twitter account, it was intended as such.
Cyrus is also one of 80 artists who will unite for the January 24th release of a four-CD collection, called “Chimes of Freedom: The Songs of Bob Dylan, Honoring 50 Years of Amnesty International”. All the profits will go to charity of course. Adele, Sting, Elvis Costello, My Chemical Romance, and Ke$ha will join Cyrus. The song Miley will be covering is Dylan’s “You’re Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go.” Think she’ll do it justice?
