New Promo for J.J. Abrams’ ALCATRAZ

Welcome to Alcatraz. Probably not the words that inspired warm, fuzzy feelings in the past but the new promo for J.J. Abrams’ Alcatraz is a welcome sight as we slowly move closer to seeing what’s in store for the inmates that appear to be displaced in time.

Prison breakouts are always nerve-wracking, but what happens when 302 men disappear from “the Rock” and then reappear decades later without seeming to have aged a day? The new promo gives a little insight into the new series without giving away too much. Sam Neill’s government agent Emerson Hause seems to give off an X-Files vibe because he obviously knows more about the incident than he’s telling, but does that make him a bad guy or just someone that’s very good at keeping secrets? It also looks like Alcatraz warden Edwin James (Jonny Coyne) might not be the type of guy who plays by the rules. I don’t know if the warden will play a major part in the series but he definitely seems to be a little shady.

The obvious heroes are Detective Rebecca Madsen (Sarah Jones) and Alcatraz expert/comic book fan Dr. Diego “Doc” Soto (Jorge Garcia). Unfortunately, Garcia barely appears in the trailer but it’s nice to know the Lost alumni will be back in action again.
