ONE TREE HILL Fans: Remember, Hilarie Burton is in CASTLE

Castle ABC

ABC is prepping White Collar actress Hilarie Burton for her own reality television series. Okay, that statement is really only half true, but I’ll explain. While it is true Burton has been cast in an ABC production during her time off from White Collar, it’s not a part in a literal reality show. Burton will simply be playing someone who is a reality star in an upcoming episode of Castle.

TV Guide reported Burton’s casting as Kay Cappuccio, a socialite who has “achieved significant fame and fortune without possessing any discernible skill or talent — she is famous mostly for being famous.” That sounds like many of our real life reality stars (Kim Kardashian, Paris Hilton), who clearly serve as inspiration for this character. Kay Cappuccio is constantly at the center of the tabloids and celebrity gossip sites. While she loves the attention, she also feels confined by her lifestyle and the public’s expectations of her. I guess Castle is attempting to flesh out the character a bit more than the traditional reality star. You’d never hear if one of the Kardashians were sick of their fame.

In a sort of reunion, Tom Wright will be directing the episode Burton appears in, titled “Embarrassment of Bitches”. Wright has worked with Burton as director many times when she was playing Peyton on the CW’s One Tree Hill. Working with Wright again should make coming on to the set of a series that isn’t hers much easier.

About Brody Gibson

+Brody Gibson studied film in Vancouver, BC. I originally intended to become a video editor, but realized I have a passion for writing. To say I love television is a bit of an understatement. I watch it religiously, think about it constantly. To be able to talk about it is one the best things in the world. Combining that with my love of writing gives me the opportunity to express my opinions to the Internet masses and start gripping conversations.
