Robert Kirkman’s THE WALKING DEAD: RISE OF THE GOVERNOR – Listen up!

In a world where the dead refuse to lay down and die, you’d think zombies were the only bad guys to worry about, but in the post-apocalyptic saga, The Walking Dead, even rotting walkers take second place to the man known as The Governor. However, even the baddest evil has to begin somewhere and The Walking Dead: Rise of the Governor shows us how the ruler of Woodbury rose to power.

Macmilan  provided us with a great 5-minute excerpt from the audio adaptation of The Walking Dead: Rise of the Governor that allows us to share a tense moment with Nick Parsons and brothers Brian and Philip Blake, along with Philip’s daughter, Penny.

Surrounded on all sides by zombies with faces “like spackling compound,” and “eyes like marbles gleaming in the firelight,” it looks like this band of survivors is about to become the newest unwilling members of the undead army, but two small axes and an indomitable fire that’s already burning within the man who will become known as the Governor prove that things might not be as hopeless as they appear.

If you’re a fan of the Walking Dead comics, you owe it to yourself to take a peek into the past and explore the Governor’s rise to power and madness. The Walking Dead: Rise of the Governor hit shelves for your reading and/or listening (do both at the same time!) pleasure last month!
