Springbreak with Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens and Emma Roberts?

Who DOESN’T want to go on spring break with lovely celebs like Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens and Emma Roberts? Then toss in a little James Franco? Yes, you heard me. If you’re a fan, then get a load of this unusual movie casting scoop.
Harmony Korine wrote Kids, which premiered back in 1995. the picture was super controversial. It centered around a gaggle of sexually active teens in New York City. His other films, such as Gummo, Mister Lonely, and Trash Humpers only solidify the man’s reputation as an “indie film provocateur”. For that reason, it has been unlikely, until now, that you would breath the name Harmony Korine and Disney at the same time.
What has changed? Well, he is hard at work on an upcoming film called Springbreakers. It will follow four college-age gals who decide it is a good idea to rob a restaurant, I’m assuming at gun-point, while they are on the way to enjoy spring break on the beaches of Florida. According to Variety, Selena Gomez a.k.a. Justin Bieber’s lady love, Vanessa Hudgens of Disney’s High School Musical and of Beastly, and with Emma Roberts from Nickelodeon’s Unfabulous, are talking with Korine about being cast in his film.
Can the news get weirder? Of course it can! A-lister James Franco is already on tap to act as a drug dealer who likes to run guns on the side. He’ll bail the chicks out of the slam, but turn around an try to manipulate them into killing off his foes. Wow. Do college co-eds make for good assassins? Looks like we’ll find out soon!
The picture is scheduled to begin filming in Florida during next year’s actual spring break. They say Gomez will play the most reluctant gal in the posse, though she has been showing off her tough side recently, hasn’t she? What do you think? If all three girls are cast, can they pull off playing criminals? Let us know!
