Summer Glau Joins Tricia Helfer in SCENT OF THE MISSING

Summer Glau, Alphas, Scent of the Missing, TNT

Summer Glau is beautiful, she’s capable, she’s every fanboy’s dream and now she’s getting ready for a brand new role. The actress from Serenity, Dollhouse, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, The Cape, and Alphas has been added to the cast list of Scent of the Missing. You’ll understand the title when you read what this new TNT series will be all about.

Scent of the Missing will be executive produced by co-writers Carol Mendelsohn, Melissa R. Byer & Treena Hancock and Barry Josephson. Mendelsohn is well known for her work on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. The show will focus upon the female lead, Susannah, set to be acted by Tricia Helfer. Helfer is also a fanboy fav. You will remember her as the former model who played Number Six on Battlestar Galactica.

Helfer’s Susannah is a tough as nails K-9 Search and Rescue volunteer. Her partner is a marvelous and mischievous golden retriever called Puzzle. I like that name! Glau will act as another member of the K-9 Search and Rescue team. Glau’s character comes from money but will prove to be “much tougher than she looks”. Hmm. That reminds me of a character from Southland, though he is male!

According to Deadline, actor Daryl Mitchel joins the gals to portray “a wheelchair-bound former military sergeant” in the show who is the communications technician for the team. DC’s Oracle anyone? Ah, we think alike. Shooting for the pilot begins in late November and the series is based on the book by Susannah Charleson.
