THE WALKING DEAD – A Look into the Zombie Future

The Walking Dead AMC

I would almost consider AMC’s willingness to tease the second half of The Walking Dead Season 2 so quickly as an act of pure evil, but I know that’s not the case. There’s an 11-week gap in between episodes, so it makes perfect sense to make us, the viewers, as stoked as possible for what’s to come in the future to guarantee we’ll still watch it come February. Down below are two scenes from Episode 8, “Nebraska”, that are just enough to keep your excitement going in the meantime.

The first scene takes place shortly after the killing of Zombie-Sophia, with Hershel being half-dragged back to the house and Shane on his heels demanding to know why Hershel did not tell them he had Sophia. It’s a valid question. They wasted a lot of time searching for a girl who has long dead and captive in Hershel’s barn. But the way Shane goes about questioning Hershel is harsh and Rick and Maggie get in his face, telling him to back off. Hershel does his best to explain Otis was the one who rounded up zombies before he died, and since his death took place before Hershel and his family knew about the missing Sophia the excuse makes sense, in my opinion.

Scene number two features Dale and Lori having a little conversation about the dangers Shane poses to the group. Dale reveals his suspicion that Shane murdered Otis. It’s unclear if Lori is convinced, but Dale makes it clear Shane will likely kill someone else if he isn’t stopped.
