TWO AND A HALF MEN goes Mimi for Ashton Kutcher

Who is Ashton Kutcher’s mommy? As far as Two and a Half Men is concerned, its actress Mimi Rogers. The famous brunette will play Walden Schmidt’s mother for the CBS comedy.

I can still remember Mimi’s classy role opposite Tom Berenger in the 1987 thriller Someone to Watch Over Me. For you youngsters, that one had a Bodyguard vibe to it. Oh wait, that one was from ’92, so you may not be familiar with it either! Well, Mimi also appeared in a few episodes of The X-Files, in the last season of Dawson’s Creek, and in Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery as Liz Hurley’s on-screen mom.

As Mother Schmidt on Two and a Half Men, Mimi’s character is just as intelligent as Walden. She’s a primatologist, which means she studies apes. There’s joke in there somewhere! She will appear in at least two episodes of the series according to Deadline.

The funniest joke concerning this casting news morsel that I’ve heard so far was: What, wasn’t Demi Moore available? Burn! Hey, maybe Mimi’s character can get Ashton’s character to cut his darn hair! The question is, will Ashton and Mimi be able to keep Two and a Half Men afloat? The series just isn’t as funny as it used to be.
