Vanessa Hudgens in Journey 2: The Mysterious Island Trailer

What does Hunger Games movie heartthrob Josh Hutcherson have in common with Vanessa Hudgens? Well, both young actors star in New Line Cinema’s Journey 2: The Mysterious Island. The film is an upcoming 3D sequel to Journey to the Center of the Earth and we have the full trailer for you now.

If special effects, secret codes, exotic travel, creatures, adventure and plenty of mystery are your idea of a good time, then the trailer suggests Journey 2 is tailor-made for you. Dwayne Johnson, Luis Guzmán and Michael Caine co-star in the film directed by Brad Peyton. If you think the trailer is fun and suspenseful, then mark your calendar for February 10th. That’s when the movie will debut.

The plot will revolve around the hunt for Michael Caine’s character, “grandpa”, who is lost on a mysterious isle. In fact, the island seems to exist where no island actually exists. Somebody play the X-Files theme! Hutcherson is hero Sean Anderson and “The Rock” is Hank Parsons, the boyfriend of Sean’s mother. Vanessa Hudgens is Kailani.

I get the feeling that just one month before Hutcherson warms up to Jennifer Lawrence in the Hunger Games, things might get romantic between his Journey 2 character and that of Vanessa Hudgens.
