Power-shoppers might think it feels like Black Friday is still a long way off, but it will be here sooner than you think, especially since Walmart is rolling out their deals a day early. You’ll need some strategy to catch the best deals and Boomtron has the info you need to make sure you have a solid plan of attack.
The gang over at our sister site, BSCKids, recently shared some info that has Walmart shoppers drooling. Even if Wally-World isn’t one of your normal stops, you might want to include it just this once.
Black Friday officially starts on November 25th (since it’s a Friday) but Walmart is throwing out the calendar and starting a day early with three Black Friday events, with each of the three catering to fans of different merchandise. If you’re looking for toys, home, and apparel, you can work off the turkey and dressing by showing up at Walmart at 10PM on Thanksgiving day but you can hold off for a few hours if electronics are more your style because those deals start at midnight on Black Friday. The wide-ranging category of ‘family’ is added to the electronics deals at 8AM on Friday but the events are only good while supplies last so you probably don’t want to wait for the third event if electronics are your main goal.
The hours might seem like a cruel joke if you’re not a night owl but Walmart’s chief merchandising officer, Duncan MacNaughton, says, “Our customers told us they would rather stay up late to shop than get up early, so we’re going to hold special events on Thanksgiving and Black Friday.” As someone who appreciates sunsets a lot more than sunrises, I can totally relate.
Black Friday shopping can be a brutal event where every advantage counts so you might want to hit up Walmart’s Facebook page to grab a store-specific map, and don’t forget to bring any print ads from competitors that are offering a better price because Walmart will match it.
