Alice Eve Joins Starfleet for Abrams’ STAR TREK MOVIE

Alice Eve, Star Trek, J.J. Abrams

There are a lot of great canon characters in the sprawling Star Trek mythos. There are even a lot of great actors already a part of the successful J.J. Abrams reboot film playing a few of those well-loved canons. As we get closer and closer to the premier of the film’s sequel, it looks like Chris Pine’s Kirk and Zachary Quinto’s Spock will welcome a new face set to bring life a fresh character.

J.J., the same mind behind Super 8, picked Alice Eve to co-star in the upcoming science fiction, space opera sequel. She is playing what Variety calls a new character. You can bet the blonde bombshell will catch Kirk’s eye! Eve, from She’s Out of My League, has yet to put a final deal into ink, but the outlook is good. The same is true of Benicio del Toro, who is expected to act as the latest franchise villain. Alex Kurtzman and Robert Orci will co-author the script and Paramount wants a May 17 2013 release date. That’s a few light years away, huh?

Your favorites from the first reboot are expected to return, including Karl Urban as Bones, Zoe Saldana as Uhura, Simon Pegg as Scotty, John Cho as Sulu, and Anton Yelchin as the accent encumbered Chekov. Who else can’t wait to see Uhura and Spock develop that unusual romance again?
