Arya Stark’s Style in GAME OF THRONES Season 2

A new behind the scenes video for Game of Thrones has been put out by HBO and I am so thankful for it, even if it’s just a minute and 20 seconds of Maisie Williams talking about how her character, Arya, has changed her look for Season 2. I’m sure I’m not the only fan who will take any kind of new footage at this point. All jokes aside, the video is actually pretty informative toward Arya’s current situation and what Williams has had to do to get ready for shooting her scenes.

The very first thing Williams let’s us know is she really cut all her hair off for Season 2. In the first season, her hair was pinned up under a wig when she needed to dress like a boy, but she decided to go for the real thing just to prove she could. I like her brass. Traveling on the road can make you pretty dirty, especially when you’re riding with criminals, so naturally Arya will appear far dirtier than she has before. The process to make her look filthy can take awhile, and can take just as long to remove at the end of the day. Can you imagine having all that gunk on your skin and in your hair? No thank you.

Williams points out her wardrobe is concocted of random bits of clothing she aquired from various sources. There’s a bit of her own clothing as well as some of Bran’s, but her coat was taken from a dead man. Desperate times, right?
