Elizabeth Banks Effieing Awesome in Hunger Games

You want to make sure you’re as fashionable as possible when it comes to a life-or-death tournament, which is why a new line of nail polish is coming out to celebrate The Hunger Games, and fashion diva Effie Trinket is a natural choice as spokesperson for the new line.

Effie Trinket, played by Elizabeth Banks in the highly anticipated movie, knows how to stand out in a crowd, which is probably why she was recently named the official face of China Glaze’s Capitol Colors nail polish line. The new promo prominently features Effie in all her pink and purple glory, and I’m honestly surprised at how good she looks here. In the trailer for The Hunger Games, I thought she looked a bit on the aged side but it looks like that might have just been from the harsh light that was on her during the Tribute selection process… or maybe it was just the initial shock of seeing Banks as Effie for the first time.

Along with Effie being featured on the new promo, we get a tiny (very tiny) peek at the twelve colors that make up the Capitol Colors line. As you can probably guess from the name of the collection, each color represents one of Panem’s twelve districts so it will be easy for people to show district pride when the nail polish comes out on March 1, 2012.

When it comes to marketing, I think China Glaze has come up with the best tagline ever with, “What will you be wearing to the opening ceremonies?” It’s a question that will be on everyone’s mind because I’m sure Hunger Games fans will want to be wearing their best for the opening ceremonies, which for us is really the opening date for the movie on March 23, 2012.
