G.I. Joe Retaliation Trailer Now Online!

I have been dreading this sequel since I first heard about it but the trailer for G.I. Joe: Retaliation reveals some considerable distance from the first dismal movie in the franchise and we might have a serious box office contender here.

Imagine a G.I. Joe movie done right and you come up with Retaliation because it looks like all the mistakes from G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra were noticed and corrected. Sure, we still have Channing Tatum on the screen but he seems to be holding his own this time around, which might have something to do with him not having to share screen time with any type of stupid power-suit. Snake Eyes is back for more martial arts action and, thankfully, those freaky rubber lips from the first film have been left behind. Poor Snake Eyes looked like a caricature of himself the first time around but he’s totally bad-ass in this movie.

Speaking of bad-ass, Bruce Willis makes his appearance towards the end of the trailer. He’s supposedly playing the original G.I. Joe but he’s actually just playing every tough-guy character he’s ever played. It’s Bruce Willis playing Bruce Willis and it looks like he might even out-macho Dwayne Johnson… and that takes a unique kind of style that only Willis has.

G.I. Joe: Retaliation blasts into theaters on June 29, 2012 and I’m actually looking forward to it now.
