Gemma Arterton and Jeremy Renner in Grimm Guise

Gemma Arterton and Jeremy Renner were cast in Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters? earlier this year, so  let’s check out this hot new image from the film first, and then we’ll break down what details we already have.

The film will make its debut March 2nd. It asks the question: Gee, what would Hansel and Gretel be like as adults? We know one thing today, and that is, what they will look like as adults. Here are Arterton of Prince of Persia and Quantum of Solace and Renner of The Hurt Locker and The Town dressed to kill. EW provided the image and explained that a first trailer from Paramount should grace us next Thursday.

What can we expect from Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters? Director Tommy Wirkola, also responsible for the Nazi zombie movie Dead Snow, has used the adjectives “bone-chilling” and “very dark”. Interestingly enough, Wirkola also compares his film to something that might have some from Quentin Tarantino. He says there’s plenty of swearing. That’s something you also would not expect out of Hansel and Gretel. There’s some comedy integrated into the action and Arterton’s Gretel is very “spiritual”, whereas her brother is a skirt chaser and rather “cheeky”. Like I said, I still still find the film bizarre. Peter Stormare and Famke Janssen also star.
