Girl with the Dragon Tattoo Hits Theaters Early
What do I want for Christmas this year? How about a sneak peak at David Fincher’s The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo starring Rooney Mara and Daniel Craig? It looks like I may get my wish, but this particular gift isn’t only for me. Everyone can get in on the feel bad film of the season.
Columbia Pictures originally scheduled Dragon Tattoo for a December 21st release. Things have changed however, and you can color me excited. 7 p.m. on Tuesday, December 20th will not mark your first opportunity to scope out the new version of the pop culture phenomenon.
As the official release stated, Fincher’s take on the first book in the Millennium Series by Stieg Larsson is one of the most highly anticipated motion pictures of the year. Sony Pictures therefore, was pleased to deliver the film one day early. Rock on. Speaking of rock, have you gotten a load of the soundtrack yet?
The thriller unfolds as Mikael Blomkvist, acted by James Bond actor, Daniel Craig, is convicted of libel. During the investigation he has some down time and is introduced to a wealthy Swedish industrialists, Henrik Vanger, as acted by Academy Award nominee Christopher Plummer. Vanger asks Blomkvist to investigate the long running disappearance of his niece, Harriet. To uncover the family mystery, Blomkvist gets stuck on a remote island on the frozen Swedish coast, where the family manor lies.
Lisbeth Salander, acted by Mara, is the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. She’s a gifted if not troubled investigator with Milton Security, who does a background check on Blomkvist by chance. The next thing you know, she is aiding Blomkvist in his investigation of the suspected murder of Harriet Vanger.
It is a tangled web they must un-weave and Harriet may not be the only victim of the suspected murderer. The pair of investigators can’t fathom how much further their relationship will go.
