Helen Mirren as Doctor Who?

Helen Mirren for President? Okay, so that’s a stretch. The amazing actress wasn’t born in the United States. She is well loved, however. Aside from being one of the hottest 66 year old women I’ve ever encountered, she has an Oscar, four SAG Awards, numerous Emmy Awards and has twice been named Cannes Film Festival’s Best Actress. The dulcet tones of her voice are coming to Glee on Fox, believe it or not, and what’s next? Could Doctor Who be in her future?

Pay attention you British television execs! Dame Mirren has an idea! According to the Daily Star, Mirren was recently quoted as saying it is time for a change on the set of the long-running science fiction series Doctor Who. Mirren wants the next Doctor to be a woman. In fact, she’s willing to make this dream become reality. She’d like to play the good doctor! She further drove home her point by reminding the world she would not, repeat not, like to simply play the Doctor’s side kick.
