Jack the Giant Killer Trailer – First Look!

Nicholas Hoult Jack the Giant Killer

Once upon a time ago, giants ruled our land and the big boys are eager to reclaim what they lost. At least, that’s part of the twist in the new Jack the Giant Killer, based on the classic Jack and the Beanstalk fairy tale.

The trend to twist fairy tales continues with Bryan Singer’s Jack the Giant Killer and it looks like Jack, played by X-Men: First Class’ Nicholas Hoult, has his hands full with more action than one man can handle. Fortunately, he has Ewan McGregor and a small army of soldiers to help him defend the land and rescue the princess from the giants.

The magic beans are now holy relics that come with a warning – don’t get them wet – and the top of the beanstalk leads to a whole army of giants that seem eager to re-start the ancient war between giants and men.

We get a decent peek at the giants in the trailer provided by iTunes Movie Trailers but the whole thing is fast-paced so don’t blink or you’ll miss the one shot that features a whole giant. Aside from that one scene, it’s mostly a glimpse of giant feet as they walk by or tear trees out of the ground by the roots.

You can check out the official synopsis below the trailer to get the plot, which is mostly hidden in the preview. Hopefully, another trailer will come out that features more than a bunch of people just running around.

Jack the Giant Killer hits 2D, 3D, and IMAX 3D theaters on June 15, 2012.
